Run The Jewels have shared the imaginative video for their latest single, ‘Walking In The Snow’.
The track is the latest single to be taken from the duo’s most recent record, RTJ4, which came third in Far Out’s Best Albums of 2020. Killer Mike and El-P released the latest instalment from the Run The Jewels story back in June but haven’t slowed down since. They recently released a remix of ‘The Ground Below’ featuring Brighton’s Royal Blood.
They’ve also treated fans to ‘Forever’ featuring Blink-182’s Travis Barker and ‘No Save Point’ which the duo created for the new video game Cyberpunk 2077.
The visuals for ‘Walking In The Snow’ was helmed by Chris Hopewell, who previously linked up with the duo for ‘Burn The Witch’ and ‘Don’t Get Captured’. The video sees action figure versions El-P and Killer Mike stand up to power by rebelling against an authoritarian regime.
Hopewell said of the video: “It was great to work with the RTJ guys again. Everyone was very aware of the gravity of the subject matter and RTJ didn’t want to be too obvious or on the nail with the visuals, so we went with an 80’s style fantasy look with evil snow warriors and their icy king oppressing the bedroom toys.
“It was great to be involved with a project with a positive vibe to end a pretty fucked up year. Big thanks to the RTJ crew for their truth and for letting us work with their amazing music once again.”
